Notice of Position Opening - MAI/Certified General Appraiser
Fort Bend Central Appraisal District is accepting applications for an experienced MAI/Certified
This position is responsible for representing the Appraisal District in the review of properties
and their values for litigation purposes. This is accomplished by reviewing the valuation of
pending lawsuits and determining an appropriate value for the property, and consulting with
legal counsel while working towards case resolution. Other responsibilities include reviewing
appraisal reports, writing appraisal reports, attending mediations and settlement conferences,
attending depositions, serving as an expert witness, and performing other duties as needed.
This position reports to the Chief Appraiser.
Salary Range: $75,000.00+ with excellent benefit package

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited four year college or
university; major in Real Estate or Finance preferred; Registered Professional Appraiser
Certification completed; Certified General Appraiser and/or Member of Appraisal Institute
Minimum Experience: Two years responsible experience in professional appraisal techniques
and procedures; experience writing appraisal reports; familiarity with three approaches to
value and their interaction with each other; ability to perform mathematical tasks associated
with appraisal; working knowledge of USPAP; and knowledge of and experience with computerassisted
appraisal and information systems.
