Notice of Position Opening - Deputy Chief Appraiser of Mapping Technologies

Fort Bend Central Appraisal District is accepting applications for an experienced Deputy Chief
Appraiser of Mapping Technologies.

This position is responsible for implementing an information system of maps and records
consistent with and appropriate for the needs of the District’s primary assignment of identifying
all taxable property in the District. Other duties include supervising the GIS and Mapping
department staff; develop and maintain on-going procedures for implementing and maintaining
the capability to reproduce or alter the maps and plats to reflect ownership changes, boundary
changes; identify all parcels by permanent account numbers; and perform other duties as
assigned by Chief Appraiser. This position reports to the Chief Appraiser.

Salary Range: To be determined based on experience and educational qualifications.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited four year college or
university in related field; Certified Mapping Specialist (CMS) designation; Registered
Professional Appraiser (RPA) preferred.
Minimum Experience: Five (5) years of Appraisal District experience with supervisory
position(s).

Notice of Position Opening - MAI/Certified General Appraiser

Fort Bend Central Appraisal District is accepting applications for an experienced MAI/Certified
General Appraiser.

This position is responsible for representing the Appraisal District in the review of properties
and their values for litigation purposes. This is accomplished by reviewing the valuation of
pending lawsuits and determining an appropriate value for the property, and consulting with
legal counsel while working towards case resolution. Other responsibilities include reviewing
appraisal reports, writing appraisal reports, attending mediations and settlement conferences,
attending depositions, serving as an expert witness, and performing other duties as needed.
This position reports to the Chief Appraiser.

Salary Range: $75,000.00+ with excellent benefit package
Closing Date: Until Filled
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited four year college or
university; major in Real Estate or Finance preferred; Registered Professional Appraiser
Certification completed; Certified General Appraiser and/or Member of Appraisal Institute
(MAI) designation.
Minimum Experience: Two years responsible experience in professional appraisal techniques
and procedures; experience writing appraisal reports; familiarity with three approaches to
value and their interaction with each other; ability to perform mathematical tasks associated
with appraisal; working knowledge of USPAP; and knowledge of and experience with computerassisted
appraisal and information systems.
